Great

I spent the whole day

trying to write the next great American novel,

as one should, in the summer,

try something great.

But I was only struck by

writer’s block

after writer’s block,

not knowing how to create something beautiful,

original,

real.

But life tells me that I try so hard

to be the best

and look for the perfection in everything.

Maybe the next great will not be me,

or you,

or anyone.

But if we don’t try…

we’ll be right.
