Figure It Out

It’s an interesting feeling

waking up after one of

those nights.

Because your feet are on the floor

but you still don’t really know

where you stand,

and your head is held high

but there are too many directions

to turn.

And something tells you

that you’ll be alright

and something else says

that it’ll be back tonight.

But you just have to remember

that a world, that a mind changes

with time,

with a whisper,

not a shout.

And someday–

some far, far off lonely day,

you’re going to wake up

on one of those mornings

and realize that maybe

you’ve figured it out.
