Hello everybody, and happy new year! I am absolutely thrilled to say that my “365 Poems” project has been completed with great success! To commemorate this achievement, I would like to start off by thanking everyone who has been watching this blog and who has been following me all the way to the end of my journey. To all those lovely people who have followed me or liked my posts, you guys are the ones that make all of this worth it! Thank you so much for taking your time to listen to me and to show your appreciation for what I have to say.
So, now what?
I guess the first obvious order of business is the question of what’s going to be happening on my blog for the next 365 days. Well, I have been thinking about it a lot and I have decided that I will not be doing “365 Poems” again this year. *sigh* Yes, sorry guys. But don’t worry! I am still going to be writing poems and stories and posts on a regular basis; I’m just not going to be requiring myself to write one every single day. While doing this project I often found that, while it was getting me to write more, there were many days where I could not get myself to write any stories or work on personal projects because the task of coming up with a poem every day was creatively tiring me out. To fix this, I have decided that I will take a break from the 365 Poem idea for a year and instead try to write just for the fun of it, now that last year’s project has gotten me used to writing on a daily basis. Maybe next year I’ll dust off the project again and do another full year of poetry, but for now, I’m just going to write to write. I hope that you guys will continue to accompany me.
So what should you be expecting in this new year? Well, I will continue to try and write a poem every day (I just won’t physically force myself to crank one out at 11:59 like I did a couple times last year). Along with the poems, I will also be posting short stories that I have written and also typical blog posts about me and my life and what’s been on my mind that day. I’m also going to re-post the Top 10 most-liked poems from “365” and there may be a couple more surprises that go along with that, so don’t think that that year of work will be disappearing just yet. As for new year’s resolutions well… I would like to finish writing my novel, but I guess you and I will all have to see how long that lasts.
Once again, thank you so much to everyone for helping me through this task and giving me the confidence to see it through. I have a lot of stuff planned for 2015, and I hope that you all will continue to enjoy my writing and help spark my creativity through your support. I promise that you will not be disappointed.
