Now You See Me

Draw me out

piece by piece

and see what you think of me then.

Brush the hairline fractures

into my eyes,

the red embarrassment

onto my cheeks,

every crack and crevice

that I’ve tried so hard

to hide from you

and tell me you don’t care.

What I’ve gone through

to be this way

is not worth the price

of what it takes to look away.
