Scarves

We’re creatures made of many threads

as we wrap ourselves around this world.

Little children tied up in scarves

that overlap our lives

like the stacking spiraled highways,

and we all know we’re gonna end up somewhere

whether the way is warm

or we end up tying ourselves too tight.

But I hope that wherever you go,

someone will be there to wrap you up

’cause we’re all unraveling a bit too quickly these days

and I’m not ready to give up just yet.
