Hard to Get

How easy it seems things can spin,

but only if you break them in

and mistake your left from your right

and loosen things that should be tight.

For gears can turn so perfectly

if spokes can match what eyes can see

and grease can spill upon the floor!

How time can make one wish for more.

Love is a well-oiled machine

for those who fight and those who dream,

but don’t lock yourself up through time

to someone who does not align.

There’s basic science to this game

that clicks inside a picture frame.

Just spin your way and don’t you fret:

what’s stuck may just be hard to get.
