Defying Gravity

I defy the laws of physics

every time I get out of bed in the morning.

An object at rest tends to stay at rest,

but I have to get going.

I’ve got roller coasters to ride

and gravities to defy.

Maybe I’ll break glass with my voice

and break hearts with my words.

Maybe I’ll create the perfect chemical reaction

of sugar and sleep deprivation

so that I’ll grow my own wings

and make the scientists drop their clipboards in awe.

An object in motion tends to stay in motion,

but I’ve got to slow down.

I’ve got roller coasters to ride

and gravities to defy.

Now,

who’s with me?
