The Mind of a Winner

What goes through the mind

of a wonder in the making?

When I swim in a race,

my mind echoes every arm movement.

When I run a 5k,

I sing the rhythm of the beats of my feet.

But when I play a song

on my violin

in front of a smiling crowd,

my brain does not control my fingers.

My hands, my eyes,

are all their own,

and my mind just listens

and thinks, “This.”

“This moment right here.”

“This is all that matters.”
