The Crows of Dogwood

Dogwood is for the strongest–

not the bravest or the free.

Just a little road of mansions rich

and the crows of Dogwood three.

We’re the kings of all these streets–

a paradise that needs no sea.

All that’s needed is what’s not needed

for the crows of Dogwood three.

Ask the sparrows of Southcrest

and we’re sure that they’ll agree

that no birds deserve more respect than

the crows of Dogwood three.

No more great expectations

than Pip does a sparrow see.

But what problem does this cause to us?

The crows of Dogwood three?

Our wings are so black and dull.

There’s no gifted voice for we.

But all that matters is our address

for the crows of Dogwood three.

We’re all birds of a feather

the men say on their TV’s.

But we know they’re counting more than stars…

like the crows of Dogwood three.
